FOUR WHAT?!

Overall USA elections campaign spendings for our
most recent election totaled around $4 BILLION
according to reliable sources. Where is priority?
(These totals include money spent by outside organisations
on behalf of or against Democrats or Republicans)
The numbers are staggering (to state the obvious)
compared to, maybe, a school district's budget that
always seems to lack funding for footballs and colored
pencils there should be a few dollars left to give
deserving teachers a nickel as well.

Maybe I just don't get it.

I wonder how much money has been spent on campaigning over the past ten years. I am sure that will be a challenge for you and soon, I will know. Always intrigue me why a person would spend 1.5 million of their own money to be elected to a office that pays 150,000 a year? could it be that they are planning on doubling or even tripling their investment from special interest groups.

Meg Whitman is the new record holder for campaign money spent in an election - $140 mill.
Second goes to Michael Bloomberg, NY Mayor, at
$110 mill. (2006, i believe).
