Quite a threat...

The weather forecast for the next 2 days speaks of winter around the LA area.
There is a graph on NOAA site depicting today's temp. in comparison
with past "average" temperatures. If you - not unlike me - are wishing
for more than the few inches expected, you might be gravely disappointed.
Last year, we were presented with plenty of snow to play in at a reasonable
temperature. Without hesitation, there could be a 12" plus snow storm
right around the corner...but, not likely. Our favorite warming trend
may or may not be partly to blame for this weather, but let's not forget
what lies next -

"In the winter of 1780, New York Harbor froze, allowing people to walk from Manhattan to Staten Island. Sea ice surrounding Iceland extended for miles in every direction, closing that island's harbors to shipping."
~Wikipedia~

- and who brought the subject up LONG before the media or Gore.
Come on! I can't claim "first". There have been scientists writing
and speaking of this for over 15 years. Did Al just not "run in" to
these facts and discoveries before he set out to eventually win a
Nobel Peace Prize? Maybe it had to do with the money...NAHH!
8,200 (approximately) years ago, the "warm" prize would have
been laughed at. What really happens will end up in the almanac
for future "averages".

The way I see it, we need to keep our children and grandchildren
trained for survival in an icy region - not knowing what generation
will see the turning earth cycle. We have had the blessing of
living in the tail end (it seems) of a great cycle, ourselves. But, then
again, it's ALL a "big cycle", no? We could dare as far as make
estimates of when it will occur and the effects due to the oncoming change(s),
but, when we finally see it, it may not be exactly what we expected.

It is kind of weird you just never know! Are we headed for a global meltdown or is this just part of the cycle? We just don't have enough documented information!

I have been watching alot of documentaries on this Global warming and it is my conclusion it is happening all over! I do not foresee a ice age coming in our future, but hey who knows

the cycle continues...whether we understand or not...
