Trivia:
What US president, while on a peaceful fishing trip, was almost attacked by claimed "killer rabbit" (pic below) that tried to board his boat from the swamp's waters?

(SPAM to follow)

Whether it was the president's own words, or his writers, a lot of good food for thought was in the form of presidential speech and one-liners. There have been a lot of memorable quotes engraved into our memories by presidents.
Our society seems to feel a need to ridicule, tear down, and humiliate this political figure from dawn to dusk. "All in good fun", we'll say - and look for the next punchline. Let us be mindful of his burdened position on this day.

“Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain.”
“Instead of working for the survival of the fittest, we should be working for the survival of the wittiest -- then we can all die laughing.”

Lily Tomlin quote

HAPPY PRESIDENT'S DAY!

"When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on."
Franklin D. Roosevelt

The "mad rabbit incident" involved President Jimmy Carter. Although the incident is recorded, alcohol may have been a contributing factor. The President perhaps consumed to much of his brothers "Billy Beer". Right after Carter took office, his brother Billy Carter started making and marketing a new beer called "Billy Beer". The company existed for only a couple of years before it failed. After the failure, I acquired an unopened can of Billy Beer and had it for many years, then it mysteriously disappeared. To date, my children still proclaim that they are innocent and have no knowledge of what happened to my "collectors" item. Today, perhaps it would be worth enough to put all of my grandchildren through college.

Although John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton were great speech makers, perhaps the best of the orators was President Ronald Reagan. He is likely one of the most quoted presidents in our history. Some of my favorites by him, "Politics I suppose to be the second-oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first" President Ronald Reagan was crdited with the demise of Russia, prior to this collapse, he was quoted as saying "My fellow Americans, I am pleased to tell you, I just signed legislation which outlaws Russia forever. The bombing begins in five minutes." His prespective about government was keen, "Government is like a baby. An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other end".
