Saddam has been hung.

You are aware - I assume - that Saddam televised plenty of hangings in the past. Many of them were hung for their "treachery". There has been some controversy over publicly showing his demise. Some warned our nation of this action, entirely. We were only following instructions.
In history, a public hanging, or punishment, was due to public killings and crimes and was an example to the public that this sort of behavior would not be tolerated. We HAVE come a long way in making a polite society - except for the media showing many deaths, destructions, and disasters that make their paychecks what they are today. We should be able to believe this man is dead, but why is the death of this cruel leader kept from the public and not the bloody bombings, limbless, bleeding bodies, and wailing relatives - as nearly every night on the 6 pm news? Do we, suddenly, have guilt for the gory truth? The followers of this dictator (many, mind you) are aware that he was executed whether public, or not. This isn't Vietnam. Our position in his country will, probably, not change for some time to come. Maybe, if we could kill ALL of his followers...but, then what of the large mercenary groups? The Surbs? All of the anarchy-based fightings? How many people will die (US military, or, otherwise) before we clean up our tents and go home - leaving the rebels to fight for what's left and creating their own dictatorship? When do we cease "humanitarian efforts"?
Money is not everything, and *our country will just make more of it. $350,000,000,000 is more than we had - or will have in the near future. It is estimated that we will spend another $110 billion in the 2007 fiscal year for this "cause". Where do we get the money?* These funds would've gone a long way towards our county's debt.
Granted, the terrorist actions could not be tolerated. Meanwhile, I am trying to teach my kids that we cannot fix everyone's problems, and to live life - respecting those around us or not deserve respect, considering that we're not the only people that live on the earth, leaving room for differing opinions and actions, and doing the right thing (as often as possible) to have a guilt-free mind when it comes to the end of our existance.
Is our country - founded on God - upholding the morals we should instill on our next generation? Are we just "the bully" in the playground?......

ONE (just 1) evil man is dead...

Plumma, that is perhaps the most verbose posting that you have ever made. I have often be critized for being verbose, but when great minds are at work, it is so difficult to be short and simple. For example, Samuel Webster, when he wrote the dictionary, he used every word that he could think of yet no one criqued him for being verbose. As an avid sport fishermen, I also discovered the difference between the fisherman and the fish - this fisherman is not going to take the bait that you were dangling for me to jump on.

I almost did...good job on your writting...I happend to believe that you were able to blog so eloquently, not because of your great mind, but because of the lack of distractions in your home this morning...just a thought.

leave a worthless thought for me
