I know there has been a lot of our federal monies and resources used on the study of global warming - especially in the state of Alaska. I happen to know a chemical engineer for Conico Phillips who told me of a study that has been conducted, for research, since 1951 about "average temperature" in our state. Their studies show that our "average" is down 3 degrees - compared to 55 years ago. There appeared to be a "warming trend" in the mid-seventies - only to decline, again.
The mountains up here have not seen snow this early for a good 100 years. If there EVER was evidence against global warming - it's here, baby!
I found this pic online - taken recently in Thailand.
For those of you ready to put a catalytic converter on your lawn mowers to prevent global warming-your interest and motivation could be better used elsewhere.
Remember to donate to your KCC centers.
Help Alaska stay pure!

2 opinionated prattle:
How could the adverse affect of "global warming" not affect our area, after the beautiful hot summer that we have enjoyed, I cannot believe our temperatures have dropped by 3 degrees over the past 50 years - hey, it don't get much better than what we have enjoyed. At least, all this hot weather has killed off all of the Penguins that inhabited "Smokey Bay", they were starting to become pests by begging for food from the tourists and scattering fecal matter everywhere. It was difficult walking on the boardwalks looking at all the shops without stepping in Penguin caw-caw. Don't know about the rest of you, but I am looking forward to the cooler weather and hopefully a little rain or snow for a change.
Next, we must pass a "Don't feed the penguins" ordinance so they will go elsewhere to forage for their young.
Maybe the cougars will go back to Canada...
