When my dogs are feeling SAD

Around the last of Jan. or early Feb., we all get to feeling the “Wannabespring” blues of some sort. Call it cabin fever, stir crazy, or numerous other playful names we have chosen. We all have our own ways of dealing with the stresses of short daylight, cold air, and not being able to c@#P in the woods with the bears without freezing vital members of the team.

The pets we have chosen to share our living space, smells, and food with can get the same sort of symptomatic depressive state during this time of year.

Your pet may respond to many (or, any) of the more common aides in battling this overpowering syndrome. Our weiners choose to put on some easy music, light a candle, cork a sassy bottle of wine, and serve up Spam with Edam.

Spam and edam is much classier than pouting under a lamp.

If you feel the incessant urge,
and your tongue is sharp and quick,
leave a worthless thought for me
whether cool, or fun, or sick.
